Last week we had the pleasure of collaborating with Callwey’s blog. The amazing coffee-table-books editorial asked us if we could prepare a nice recipe to share with their readers. And we decided to recreate a delicious Italian staple: Calzoni alla Vicentina. We made them from scratch, dough included! So head over to Callwey’s blog, if you’d like to learn how to prepare these simple yet scrumptious treats that will make your stomachs jump with joy!
A couple of weeks ago (time flies!) I was in Italy for a family celebration. We had a great time and made day trips to Lago di Garda and Venice. I love coming back to Vicenza: the smell of fresh grass under the sun, the lilting accent, the delicious food, the stunning architecture… This time all the family got together, so it was even more special. Here you have lots of pictures of my Italian getaway (and some travelling tips) if you’d like to see!
This is our perfect lunch for a lazy Sunday. Simple but high quality products, a little bit of sunshine and a nice conversation. A couple of weeks ago I visited my family in Italy and I brought home some excelent local products. Among them, this fantastic Sopressa vicentina. Last Sunday we decided to eat a little bit… with some Parmigiano cheese and roasted pepper buschette. A really easy Italian lunch than could be perfect for an unexpected dinner with friends this Summer.
Earth tones, soft pinks and creamy yellows… those are the colours of Vicenza. Here you have some impressions of this little town.
After five wonderful days in Italy we’re back with lots of pictures and our hearts full of nostalgia. We have spent most of the time in the countryside near Vicenza eating delicious vegetables, watching surrealistic Italian TV and making lovely daytrips to different villages and cities in the area. I’ve already told you about Vicenza here, but today I want to share with you some of my favourite shopping adresses.
