In a few days we’ll be meeting our family. We’ve planned a huge lunch in my mum’s garden and we’ll be cooking, so we’ve been trying out a few recipes. With lots of people sitting at the table, better be safe than sorry! Well, this one is a runner-up… It’s easy to prepare with just a few ingredients which are now on season, and therefore, it’s really flavourful.
Picnic season is almost here! Well, maybe you are lucky enough to live in a warm place, but here we have been sgruggling between sunny but very cold days and November-like weather. Anyway, we hope for the best, so we have our picnic basket prepared and we have been testing new picnic appropriate recipes. As soon as the weather gets any better we will jump to the river promenade and lay out our red picnic blanket! Last year I received this book as a birthday present and I knew it was going to be my go-to cookbook when looking for Spring seasonal recipes. This is the first one we tried. And let me tell you, it was a success.
Cheesecake was my baking unfinished business. Until last weekend. I have tried a couple of times, but I’ve never achieved what I was looking for. I wanted something creamy but fluffly, sweet but not overly so, something with a fruity or spicy touch. And on top of that, I wanted something easy to prepare. And I’ve found the perfect recipe!
On Sundays we cook. We spent the morning in the kitchen trying new recipes, getting our hands dirty and having so much fun. Yesterday we put together what felt like a quite exotic menu. At least for us. Well, it had lots of spices and we served it in our pretty japanese dinner service. That’s as exotic as it can be around here ;)
