As much as we love travelling, eating out and enjoying all the nice things the world has to offer, there’s nothing like an Autumn afternoon at home. When the weather gets colder we try to add some nice touches to our home to make it a little bit cosier, warmer and inviting. Here you have some tips to prepare your home for this season, if you’d like to see…
Try slightly darker shades and softer materials for the bedroom. We love to combine warmer shades with more neutral colours. Add some soft fabrics like wool or even velvet. Our pretty bed blanket is from Ikea. You don’t need to splurge, you can find nice pieces on a budget! Some other options here.
Add some soft fluffy cushions to your sofa. Again, try soft shades. We love earth tones with subtle prints, like checked prints and flowers. In my dictionary checked anything means Autumn :)
Go for natural Autumn themed center pieces. In one of our last visits to the farmer market we bought these little pumpkins and corn cobs to put together this arangement for our dining table. I used some moss as a base to give a more natural feeling to it.
Don’t forget the kitchen! Try to play with textiles again. The kitchen is a happy place so we love to have vibrant colours around. We’ve changed our kitchen cloths and choose red and orange ones, which are happy colours but somehow still work with Autumn themed compositions. We’ve tried to stick to this colour palette and add some flowers in the same shades. These are dahlias, which are a typical Autumn flower. You can also add some seasonal products to the mix: apples, nuts, berries… or even more pumpkins!
