French cheese

To say that we love cheese would be an understatement. So when I came across the top ten cheese tours on France by National Geographic I thought that it was written for us. Thank you, National Geographic. This would be the perfect way of travelling: eating a different kind of cheese in every stop of the journey ;)

Camemebert in Normandy. Brie in the Seine-et-Marne region. Chaource and Époisses in Champagne/Burgundy. Chèvre in the Loire Valley. Comté in the Jura region. Maroilles in the Picardie region. Roquefort in the Aveyron region. Cantal in the mountains of Auvergne region. Ossau-Iraty in the French Pyrénées. And Vacherin du Haut-Doubs in the France-Comté region.

I would probably need a visit to the doctor after such a gourmet tour, but I’m sure it would be worth it! Now that I think about it, other similar tours could be made in Spain, Italy or the Netherlands… I’ve also heard that California has some pretty good artisan cheeses. Oh, the world of cheese! So much to learn! ;)

PS. How to prepare a great cheese plate and 12.440 cheese books!
