This a perfect treat for long cold Winter afternoons. It’s very easy to prepare and you can use different ingredients. Apples are a great option, but this time I chose pears.
You just need:
– 1 sheet of puff pastry, room temperature
– 2 chopped pears
– 1 cup chopped walnuts
– 1 cup chopped dark chocolate
– 1/3 cup of brown sugar
– A little bit of cinnamon
– 1 egg yolk.
– A little bit of butter
Preheat the oven at 200ª. On a work surface carefully unfold the puff pastry. With a rolling pin, roll out the pastry. Using a knife or a pastry cutter, cut slits along the long sides of the pastry.
Spread the fruit along the length of the center of the dough. Add the walnuts, then the chocolate and finally the brown sugar. Now, you’ll have to “braid” the dough.
With a pastry brush, lightly brush the egg yolk over the braid.
Bake at 200º until the pastry is gold-ish. 15/20 minutes should be enough. Finally, bush again with the melted butter and sprinkle a mix of cinnamon and brown sugar.
And enjoy!!!
This looks incredible! Thanks for the recipe. I will try it
