This is our take on a recipe that we found in this book. Oddly enough the recipe was uncompleted in the book (we assumed there was a printing error) but we saw this mistake as an opportunity to adapt the recipe and make a few changes. The result is a rich, creamy, salty tart that is, however, surprisingly light.
Good morning from Copenhagen! We’re having a few relaxing days in this city that we love. But before adding some new pieces to our slow-paced Copenhagen guide, we wanted to share the last installment of our Cortina d’Ampezzo series (Check the previous articles here).
Following the recommendations of our friends at the Rosapetra Spa Resort, we decided to spent the day exploring the mountains. The slow-paced way, of course. That involved long walks, sun, lots of pasta and, of course, thousands of pictures.
The four days we spent at Rosapetra Spa Resort were the happiest days we’d had in a very, very long time. That happiness that only fresh, clean air, infinite powerful views, silent afternoons and calm dinners under soft, warm light can give. We can’t be objective about this resort because we will remember it forever as one of the most happiest places on Earth for us. The day we left we were profoundly relaxed, serene, rosy cheeked and determined to come back.
After our stay in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Madrid and Sevilla, Germany has welcomed us with temperatures of -16ºC. You can say that our skin has been and is suffering. Add the lack of sleep, the flights, the holidays, the big meals … and you have two dull faces fighting to look good with the help of makeup but actually looking like this instead. So in order to make things right and, you know, #newyearsresolutions, we’re trying to stick with a nice weekly ritual that involves these two masks.
First post of the year! Food related, obviously. Today we wanted to share with you the first of the articles that we are going to dedicate to our Winter getaway in Cortina d’Ampezzo. With our trip to Spain and the holidays in between we still hadn’t had the time to sort all the pictures and memories! Cortina d’Ampezzo is a little village located in a beautiful valley in the Dolomites. We spent a few wonderful days of long, frosty morning walks, afternoons at the spa and incredible dinners at La Corte del Lampone, the restaurant of the Rosapetra Spa Resort, the hotel we chose for our stay. As you can imagine we had a fantastic time… and beyond delicious dinners. That’s why we’ve decided to start this little Cortina special with the restaurant that made us so very happy and was one of the highlights of our trip.
When you read these lines, we will be flying to Italy! We’ve decided to treat us with a little getaway to the mountains. The location: Cortina d’Ampezzo, a little village in the North of Veneto. I’ve always heard wonders about this sweet mountain retreat. My mum and my granmother used to speak a lot about it when I was a kid and made me dream about hot chocolate, white landscapes and pandoro. Well, after a very difficult year (lately all of them are, but this one… phew! It was rough!) we are going to spend a long weekend in a wonderful resort in Cortina. We will visit the Christmas market, we will spent long hours at the spa and we will eat a lot of cheese. We wanted to practice snowshoeing (something I’ve always wanted to do!) but guess what? There is no snow. That’s so us: we decide to go to the mountains and it doesn’t snow. Oh well, we will have a great time anyway! We can hike… or spend more time at …
Today is Friday, the weather is crispy and there is a beautiful, faded sunlight that shines through the fog. Work has been hard this week but we’ve had great results and I’ve been able to balance all the crazynes with my French lessons. So after a couple of hard months, things are looking up. Besides, we are planning a little trip before Christmas so we are really excited. Our first thought was something like this, in fact one of the first posts of the blog, back in 2012, was about that fantastic resort. We were dreaming about a white Christmas, hot chocolate and soft blankets. But then we thought about other possibilities: what about a romantic train adventure? That’s when we remembered the most fabulous of them all, the Orient Express. This train has always been part of my travel phantasies: when I was a child I would see my mum reading old Agatha Christie novels and she would tell me about the misterious Orient Express, how sophisticated and elegant it was. Then it was …
We loved his Pre-Fall 2014 and we adored his Spring Summer 2015 collection, so it’s not surprise that we just can’t stop looking at Michael Kors’ Fall / Winter 2015 collection. How can he mix the tomboy vibes with an elegant 30’s charm so beautifully?
A freezing cold weekend in January might not be the best time to visit Copenhagen… However, we enjoyed the most beautiful Winter postcard thanks to a small snow storm and the beautiful colours of Nyhavn.
