A few years ago I visited Istanbul. A dear friend of mine was living there at that moment. I remember being surprised by how cosmopolitan the city was. I fell in love with the Blue Mosque, I watched with amusement how lively the city was at night, I thought I was going to die in a taxi ride and I spent a memorable afternoon by the Bosphorus talking and laughing with my friend. I’ve always wanted to come back to Istanbul, that’s why I have picked The House Hotel Bosphorus as our new destination in collaboration with Mediteranique.
This weekends’ inspiration comes from Turkey. Meric is the creative director of Mr., co-founder of Apartment 11 and owner of an amazing blog, Maritsa. She has a unique sense of style and even though casual outfits are not that frequent in her blog, every time we see her wearing comfy and less formal looks, we love it!
Istanbul is warm, chaotic and mysterious, but it’s also unexpectedly cool. To be honest, I had lots of prejudices but I discovered a city that was the perfect mixture of tradition and modernity. I loved the strangely silent atmosphere of the port, the enigmatic Bosphorus sunsets, the long nights dancing on rooftops, the quiet conversations in amazing restaurants overlooking the beautiful mosques, the smell of leather and spices in the Grand Bazaar, the sound of the Ezan… I want to go back.
