Funghi porcini cream with thyme and mascarpone

It’s been raining, I’ve finally got to wear the blazer I bought in London a few months back, we are heading to IKEA this weekend to buy candles in bulk and there are already Christmas treats in the supermarket. That means it’s Autumn. Another unequivocal seasonal sign is the need for creams, soups and comfort food in general. Oh, and mushrooms. It’s mushroom season and we can’t be happier. Last weekend we prepared this hearty funghi porcini cream with thyme and mascarpone, which is basically all you will need for embracing Autumn with open arms. It’s fulfilling, delicious, easy to prepare and a take on a good old Jamie Oliver’s recipe. In Autumn we all go back to basics, don’t we? Broad beans and mozzarella toast

This time of the year is the best to have colourful, bright and light dishes on the table. Going to the farmers market is pure joy and we try to make the most of the seasonal produce we find every Saturday. It’s our very own tradition: on Saturdays we go out for breakfast and then we visit the farmers market. And those simply things make us happy. Like finding the first green, fresh, sweet broad beans of the season. A couple of weeks ago we prepared these broad beans and mozzarella toasts for dinner, inspired by the chef Martín Berasategui. We love a good salad. It’s been years since we forgot the boring tomato and lettuce “I’m on a sad diet” kind of salad and we started incorporating lots of delicious ingredients that made salads complete meals full of nutrients and flavour. Caramelised leek tart

These last days have been the perfect mix between visits to the flower market, afternoons sipping coffee and eating cake and long walks enjoying the faded, warm Autumn sun. Autumn is my favourite time of the year and, therefore, I tend to eat my favourite food. One of these recipes that I always prepare when I have people over, when I have to bring something to a party or when we want something really comforting to eat, let’s say after a long walk on a Sunday, is this caramelised leek tart. Actually I don’t know why it hasn’t made an appearance in this blog until today, but better late than never. La Corte del Lampone, Cortina d’Ampezzo

First post of the year! Food related, obviously. Today we wanted to share with you the first of the articles that we are going to dedicate to our Winter getaway in Cortina d’Ampezzo. With our trip to Spain and the holidays in between we still hadn’t had the time to sort all the pictures and memories! Cortina d’Ampezzo is a little village located in a beautiful valley in the Dolomites. We spent a few wonderful days of long, frosty morning walks, afternoons at the spa and incredible dinners at La Corte del Lampone, the restaurant of the Rosapetra Spa Resort, the hotel we chose for our stay. As you can imagine we had a fantastic time… and beyond delicious dinners. That’s why we’ve decided to start this little Cortina special with the restaurant that made us so very happy and was one of the highlights of our trip.

2015 Recipe recap

It’s that time of the year again.  The moment we look back and remember… what we’ve eaten and cooked! To be honest we are quite impressed by the number of recipes that we’ve managed to publish here! It’s been an hectic year with lots of work, but most of our Sundays were spent in the kitchen, trying new recipes. 2015 was the year of healthy cooking. Yes, we have shared with you a surprisingly high number of low carb, full of veggies, yet delicious dishes. Chicken, mushroom and bacon pie

I didn’t know who Nigella Lawson was. That’s awful and unforgivable, I know. But the moment my friend V. introduced me to her books I became a huge fan. We’ve been trying some of her recipes but I have to admit that the ones included in her book Nigella express are our fave because they are all about good fast food. Everything in that book is easy, comforting and delicious. Besides, the recipes require almost no time to be on the plate ready to be eaten.
