My beloved Piazza di San Marco ist closed due to the hight tides. I'm heartbroken watching Venice fighting the water. November has started but my mind is still in September, walking along the canals in Cannareggio. During our last trip to Venice I rediscovered this beautiful sestier. I particularly loved the area next to Fondamenta Misericordia, the atmosphere is local and charming and the light is just incredible! (More in stories)

Back from Venice but I'll be posting pics, tips and recommendations until Christmas, I think. These last 10 days have been full of great food, great walks, great friends and a little bit of art. One of the highlights of the trip was the installation Building bridges, by @lorenzoquinnartist, at Arsenale. We were completely alone when we visited it and it felt really empowering.

Today we had this beautiful room for ourselves at Florian. We've enjoyed a quiet breakfast while it poured outside. The perfect first Autumn morning. Having a lazy, decadent breakfast at Florian is a small luxury, but it's one of the best experiences in Venice. And we never miss it when we stay here.

Home. Literally for 10 days, but always spiritually. Venice is where my soul lives.

Is there anything better than drinks by the pool? YES. Spritz by the Canal Grande. Four months have passed since our last getaway, the first little holiday for our family. We enjoyed a wonderful stay at @sevenpinesibiza and now, if no one gets ill (which has been quite the norm lately) next week we will be leaving for my dream family holidays. I might have jinxed it, but I'm SO EXCITED I can't wait!
