Coral is for Summer

I’m sure that if all the beauty addicts in the world had to choose just one color for Summer, 99% would choose coral. And I’m one of them. I’m that original! However, finding the perfect coral shade it’s not easy (#firstworldproblems). Most of the so called coral shades in the market are too orange, eventually turn into a sort of tomato red and others are almost neon and make your hands look dirty… After a whole morning interrogating all the experts in the beauty counters of my local department store, here you have the results of my field study. Dior has the perfect, bright, coral shade. And yes, I went for nails and lips because once you find it you have to stock up, am I right? For the lips I bought the Dior Addict Fluid Stick in Adventure. It’s gorgeous and pretty longlasting. It’s quite poweful when applied directly on the lips, but if you blend it a little bit you can have a more subtle color. You can have a bold lip or you can blend it away …

Beauty favourites

We’ve been using these products over and over again for the last month, so we might as well share them with you because they are absolutely fantastic. We are not beauty experts but, from not beauty expert to another… do you want to have a look?

Black nails

Black nail polish is something that I’ve always liked but I never dared to wear. Last month I was brave enough to buy this nail polish, but it wasn’t until last weekend that I finally wore it. I have to admit that I really liked the result. I loved the contrast between my pale skin tone and the strong black shade. It makes a statement and it looks quite elegant. I have to mention that the quality of this nail polish in particular was unexpectedly good. I didn’t want to spend much because I knew it could end sad and lonely in the bottom of a drawer, so I went for a drugstore brand. But after three days it looks perfect! We escaped to Dublin for the weekend, so there were a lot of suitcase situations and everyone knows those are the worst for manicures. But no chips this time.  I’m really happy with it! I highly recommend it! Just one remark: use a base first. These dark shades can damage your nails, so in …

In my suitcase: white nail polish

I used to hate white nail polish, but it started to grow on me… It was everywhere and I started to like it. That’s so tipically me! No personality, I guess. Anyway, I decided to give it a try. I went for Essie’s Marshmallow because it has a light pink undertone that helps to avoid the Tipp-ex effect. I’m going to take it with me on holidays because I like the result, what do you think? I guess that it will look even better with a little bit of a tan. I have to admit that I don’t even know me anymore. I’m really surprised, I’ve never thought I would wear anything like that on my nails… What’s next? Black? Who knows! ;) PS: Summer nails.

Nude nails

Spring, huh? Well, not in Germany, that’s for sure. Anyway, the weather will change eventually and we will feel like wearing pastels and preparing picnics. Although I’m a huge classic red nail manicure fan, when the weather gets warmer I prefer lighter shades. This Chanel polish is the perfect nude/baby pink… or at least so it seems. I have a love – hate relationship with Chanel nail polishes. I think Chanel has the most beautiful colour range but the quality is not very good. I find their polishes difficult to apply and a little bit thicker than necessary. Is it just me? Does anyone agree? Creamy Angora by L’Oréal, Sapporo by Mavala or Skin by MAC are beautiful nude / baby pink colours that would be delightful for this season. But if I have to pick my favourite it would be Essie’s Sugar Daddy. Sweet, clean and pretty. Just like Spring!
