Chanel Le Rouge Collection : Candeur et experience

So Autumn is here and it’s time to revisit the usual suspects: tartan, berry lips, pumpkin lattes and velvet. I love the crispy air and the traditions that come with it, so I can’t be more excited. However, this year Autumn brings something new beautywise, Le Rouge Collection by Chanel. And what did I pick from the whole collection? An eyeshadow quad, of course. The beautiful Candeur et experience multi effect quadra eyeshadow. After reading lots of reviews I decided to buy it but obviously it wasn’t that easy. Finally I did find it during a short layover in Amsterdam Schiphol airport (one day we’ll have to talk about the correlation between the number of layovers per year and the number of beauty products bought per year). Hurrah! It was mine! All I had to do was wait until any occasion to wear red, brown, warm eyes. I didn’t find it because the weather has been quite nice, oddly enough, and I ‘m trying to make the most of the sun and the Summer colours …

Rosy cheeks and red lips

Chocolate and Clarins are my biggest addictions, so when I saw that the Sephora next to my mum’s house was having a clearance I run. Fast. I’ve had my eye in these two items for a while. Did I need them? No. That’s why I only got them when the price was pretty reduced. I chose the Blush Prodige Illuminating Cheek Colour in the shade Soft Peach. While the name suggests coral undertones and reminds you of a Summery colour, the truth is quite different. It’s a sheer pink that gives you subtle healthy rosy cheeks, which in my opinion is the epitome of Wintery makeup. This small blush palette has different shades that combine perfectly to achieve a really natural yet radiant result. The lipstick it’s not so natural. In fact it’s a pretty bright red. It’s from the Clarins’ Rouge Eclat collection, which we discovered last Autumn. If you read this post, you’ll now that the shade Strawberry sorbet has become our absolute favourite. It’s ridiculously nourishing and  looks beautiful on the lips. Well, …

Nars love or the Christmas surprise

Maybe it’s a little too late for this post (bearing in mind that this morning we were already talking about our Spring wardrobe wishlist) but I love this Nars palette so much that I can’t help myself. This was a special Christmas edition and I didn’t expect to find it under the tree but there it was! The Laser Cut eye, cheek and lip palette. Compact, beautiful and full of possibilities. What intrigued me the most was the famous Laguna bronzing powder. It was finally mine to try… I have no cheeckbones. Well, I guess I must have them, otherwise my face would be like a round ameba, but you can’t really notice. My face is round like a plate. The kind of round face that can’t pull off a short bob, the kind of round face that doesn’t fit in a selfie. Anyway, I had tried to contour before but it was impossible to make my cheekbones stand out, at least not with my limited make up artist skills. But! A little bit of …

Natural Autumn Make up

If you follow us (which you should) you already know that we are a tiny bit addicted to Clarins. We love their approach to beauty and their sublime yet natural shades. So, before everyone gets crazy about Christmas special editions, let’s take a moment to admire their beautiful Autumn collection. As soon as I saw that eye shadow I knew I had to have it. I know, I know, I said I would never buy any new eye shadow again but this one is the perfect brownish / taupe / greyish colour. It really is. And you apply it with your finger. Simple as that! It’s a cream to powder texture that looks beautifully matte and delightfully subtle. So, it has it all: quick application, perfect colour and dreamy texture. It’s the shade Rosewood and it’s been my go to eye shadow this month. And talking about natural and appealing shades, I can’t recommend you the Rouge Eclat lipstick enough. We got it in Strawberry sorbet, which far from being a bright Summer pink as the …

New neutrals

I’ve been trying more beauty products lately. I used to be absolutely faithful to a couple of brands, but since I’m addicted to lots of beauty channels in You Tube now, I’m discovering a whole new world. And I’m loving it. Here you have a few new products that I’ve been loving lately: This Summer I bought the Body Shop Chocomania Body Butter in a railway station. Am I the only one who buys most of her beauty products in transit? Airports, railway stations, duty free or not… I don’t care. Anyway, I used to love Body Shop during college but since then I think I ‘ve never used any of their products ever again. Well, after listening to lots of Youtubers claiming that Body Shop body butter was the bomb I decided I should give it another chance. Do you know that they have a gazillion versions now? When I was in college there were the olive oil, coconut and almond body butters, I think. That was it. Well, now you can choose between every fruit imaginable!!! But I chose chocolate. Because …

Bobbi Brown Beauty. Pretty natural

We love natural make up. No make up make up. Barely there make up. And Bobbi Brown is the queen in that field. I remember buying a super natural but flattering Bobbi Brown gloss for my first job. I wanted to look nice but serious. It was one of my first attemps to look professional but still fresh and young. Oh, the things that we believe make up can do… Anyway! I’ve purchased two new products from Bobbi Brown recently and since then I’ve been wearing them non stop. Do you want to have a look?

Marc Jacobs beauty

I love this brand just because of the packaging. Don’t you think it’s gorgeous? These are the new additions to the Marc Jacobs beauty line. They say it’s luxury reinvented and judging by the wonderful reviews on the beauty channels, it has to be true. Of course I want it all. I have to admit that I’ve been a little obsessed with make up lately but those Kiss Pop lip colour sticks are so cute and bold! And I want all the shades of those Twinkle Pop eye sticks. All of them. Besides, don’t you think they are really compact and perfect for travelling? They are a little bit difficult to find, but you can buy them online here. And watch all the little videos where Marc Jacobs himself explains something abut each product! What a touch! PS: don’t get me started on the beautiful (and limited edition) nail polishes!

Make up gurus

It’s been a long time since I wanted to publish this post. Don’t you love make up youtoubers? Watching make up tutorials in You Tube is one of my guilty pleasures. I find it oddly relaxing! besides you can always learnt one thing or two. These are my favourite make up gurus: 1. Michelle Phan: she was the first person I watched in You Tube. I don’t know how I got to her channel, probably through some blog. Anyway, she has evolved a lot and has created her own make up brand. Some of her videos now are crazy and involve Manga characters, but she shares thousands of useful tips and she is sweet. 2. Vivianna does make up: she has that girl next door vibe going on and I love it. I think we could be besties. She is fun, normal and does weekly vlogs that I can’t stop watching (which makes me feel like a stalker, to be honest). Anyway, I love her channel. 3. Lisa Eldridge: She is the queen of make …

In my suitcase: Holiday make up

Tomorrow we are flying back home for Christmas and we couldn’t be more excited. Our suitcases are almost finished, the only thing that we haven’t prepared is our make up bag. Here you have some products that we are taking with us… and some others that we wish we could add last minute to look our best this Christmas: 1. Adult Content Blush Palette by NARS. This is a limited edition with the four iconic NARS blush and highlighting blush shades. I’m hoping to get hold of it in Spain, since they don’t sell NARS products here. 2. Le Teint Touche Èclat: my favourite foundation to achieve glowing skin. 3. No 7 Skin Illuminator Fluid: perfect to add that extra yet subtle glow without being too shimmery. 4. Ombres Matelassées: limited edition eyeshadow palette by Chanel with the most beautiful colours to get several effects, from the glamourous shimmer to the matte finish. This is what I’ll be looking for at the duty free tomorrow! 5. The Porefessional by Benefit. I use it every day. …
