Better skin

See that picture? I will never have that body. Partly because I hate working out, partly because I have no will power when it comes to chocolate and partly because I have a full time corporate job, plus I have a blog, plus I write for a couple of magazines. That means I don’t have a lot of free time and when I do have it, I prefer spending it on the sofa with a good book or one of my favorite TV series.  The only sport I’ve been practicing lately has been the long walks in London and Copenhagen. My favorite kind of sport, if you ask me. So, now that we got that out of the way, let me tell you that when the temperatures are warmer I do panic and I do care about how I’ll look with no huge coat to cover everything. Like every other woman on the planet. Do I start working out like crazy? No. Do I quit chocolate? Of course not. I turn to cosmetics and beauty …

Clarins Double Serum: the game changer

Do you know those products that promise radical and almost immediate changes in your skin? I never trust them. So many disappointments… That’s why the first time I applied the Clarins double serum I was shocked. But I waited. Trust issues. However, after five weeks using this multi-award winning serum twice a day I can finally confirm it: this product really changes your skin. I’m even a little bit afraid of how much I love it because I know that from now on I won’t be able to live without it (#firstworldproblems, I know). And I can tell you that because last weekend, while we were in Copenhagen, I didn’t take it with me and oh, I’ve suffered. Suddenly my moisturizer didn’t seem enough. This serum makes my skin feel absolutely nourished. It doesn’t eliminate wrinkles or pores completely (it’s not surgery!) but the skin looks brighter, glowy… alive! If you are in your twenties, don’t even think about it. Your skin is fine. Don’t worry. In ten years you’ll miss how firm, juicy and fresh you …

Off to Copenhagen!

We’re off to Copenhagen! Even though this time of the year we usually head to the beach, we are travelling to our beloved Copenhagen to improve our slow-paced guide. Since we know you are here to read nice content, not to read us brag about our next destination, we’ve compiled some old posts that you may have missed! – A fun, colourful Peruvian restaurant in London – Clara closed her blog, but we still follow her on Instagram. Best style ever. – An afternoon in an Italian farmer’s market – The best hair treatment for frizzy hair. – Dreamy Moroccan spas – The coolest backpacks for Summer – Our favourite area in Amsterdam – We are crazy about this collection! – Looking for an off the beaten track destination? – Have you ever done this? – Last year’s beauty favourites that are still going strong – The best recipe for barbacue season. – Tips to discover a different Ibiza – My Venice.

Lena Hoschek

Our dearest friends are getting married in a month and we still have nothing to wear. Panic. They have planned a classic glamourous night wedding that is going to be so much fun. We just can’t wait! But again, we have nothing to wear. Well, I know that P. is going to find a stunning gown the minute she looks for it. She is tall and slim and everything looks just perfect on her. Unfortunately, that’s not my case. I’m curvier and petite. The result? Shopping is not easy for me. But after looking and looking (and looking a little bit more) I’ve found a brand that embraces femininity: Lena Hoschek.

May wish list

We went to London last weekend. We had a wonderful time, but my back was killing me most of the time. Why? Because I carried a huge bag with me. The problem is that when I look for/buy bags I only think about my everyday life from Monday to Friday and always forget weekends. So I end up with tote bags or huge purses where the 1.500 things I need on a daily basis fit perfectly. And since I don’t have any nice medium/small size bag for the weekend, I usually carry around all that stuff on weekends and trips too. Bad, bad, bad. (Does that happen to you too?) That’s why if I have to spend my money on one thing this month, that’s going to be a medium-sized bag. And here are my options: 1. The terribly trendy Drew bag by Chloé: I got the feeling that it’s going to become a classic. So the cost per wear will justify the splurge. 2.  A very similar version within a more affordable price range. Claire …

Nude nails

This Spring I’m changing a little bit my nail game. While I always gravitate towards bright pinks and corals during these (slightly) warmer months, I can’t get enough of nude shades lately. In my mind nudes used to equal classic French Manicure, which I’m not a fan of. But now I believe that a nice matte nude can be quite a statement. It all started with Essie Marshmallow, a warm white with pink undertones, and Essie Sugar Daddy, the ultimate ballerina pink. I just love how they make my hands look clean and polish. After that I wanted to try a soft light brown/ caramel -ish nude and I found Maybelline Color Show in Latte. I have to confess that I went for Maybelline because I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a color I didn’t know I’d like, but to be honest, the quality of the formula is pretty good and I love the shade, so I repurchased it instead of looking for a more expensive brand, though the packaging could use some improvement. Finally, …

The overall

During the last couple of years we’ve been seeing overalls everywhere. It started as a shy trend that only fashion victims would wear without looking like toddlers. We saw it in action during Paris Fashion Week 2013 for the first time (look at the fourth picture in this post) but now we can see beautiful, flattering overalls basically in every high street store. So the trend, once again, has become popular among all of us and no Spring/Summer wardrobe seems to be completed without an overall. That’s why we have put together some ideas, so that you can choose the perfect overall for you.

More makeup gurus

Last year we talked about my Your Tube make up gurus. Since then, my obsession with beauty and makeup Your Tube channels has increased (maybe alarmingly, ehem). I’ll admit it: I spend a fair amount of time watching makeup tutorials, hauls and reviews. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: it’s pretty relaxing!  So I thought I’ll share with you my new favourites! You know, sharing is caring and all that jazz… Lily Pebbles: if you have brown eyes, you’ll love her channel… Lots of ideas for (otherwise boring) brown eyes. You’ll love it too if you love eating, you are not a fan of exercising and if you need inspiration for your monochrome, casual wardrobe. Shameless fripperies: I discovered Karima’s channel thanks to Lily and I loooooooooooooove it. She has a fantastic Australian accent and she does foundation like I’ve never seen before. Check this video! And this could be my favourite tutorial ever. I covet thee: Alix is a sweet girl who makes really nice videos that include makeup, Nutella cookies and lots of stripe …

Slightly boho

We are not fans of the 70s trend that is taking over the shops this season. It’s just feels like a disguise. However, the looks that Hakei has put together for Spring take the boho extravaganza to a wearable level. This we can do. A muted 70s style mixed with casual basic pieces.

Everyday beauty

Lately I’ve been using a few beauty products in rotation and I’ve realized they are really affordable. All of them were recommendations of my favorite makeup gurus and they are really, really good. I have sensitive dry skin and I’m quite picky when it comes to textures and finishes, so I was surprised to discover such a fantastic quality for such a small price tag.
