Christmas cards 2017

They are here! Our Christmas Cards 2017 ! Ok, let’s not get carried away by enthusiasm because this year there’s no DIY. Even though we managed to create our very own Christmas crown, this year we simply didn’t find the time to DIY our Christmas cards. Why? Because #life. While we wanted to show you a Pinterest worthy DIY, we didn’t have time to prepare it. The truth is that as much as we plan things, sometimes we can’t do it all. I felt really bad because it’s something I love to do and, after 16 years together, I believe I have infected my wife with my histrionic Christmas spirit, but this year I couldn’t make it. Long hours at the office, a nightmare that involves a marathon through German bureaucracy pretty similar to The twelve tasks of Asterix and our firm commitment to our fitness routine made it impossible. Well, all that and the last two seasons of Grey’s Anatomy. We procrastinate too, that’s the truth. We are humans and we are addicted to …

DIY Advent crown

As we told you in our latest post, we are embracing German Advent to the max and one of the most important traditions is advent crowns or wreaths. Each house has its own and every Advent Sunday you are suppose to light one candle.  We love it because it’s a very special way of counting down the days left to visit our families, it’s beautiful and the light of the candles makes our living room extra cosy. For the past six years we’ve been buying our Advent crowns because, come the end of November, every vendor at the flowers market starts displaying a wonderful range of Advent crowns, and they are so beautiful that it’s’ difficult to choose one but impossible not to buy one! However, this year we decided to make our very own crown. And I don’t think we will ever buy one again! The process was so fun! We spent more than an hour choosing the materials in different shops. Since making Advent crowns and wreaths is so popular here, there’s an …

Christmas Cards DIY 2016

This post is a holiday tradition for us. If you follow this blog, you’ll know that every year we sit down and prepare our Christmas cards for our family and closest friends. It’s fun, it feels good and it marks the start of the holiday season for us. If last year’s DIY was the easiest, this year it’s almost cheating.   We bought two different boxes of gorgeous Christmas cards by My mind’s eye and some matching decorative brads and we played with them until we got our simple yet lovely and über festive Christmas cards. By the way, if you like stationery even a little bit, check My mind’s Eye web. Their products are adorable, beautiful, joyful… I just want to live inside that web. It’s an event organizer’s dream!   The process is ridiculously easy. Just pierce the cards with the decorative brads and write your best wishes. It doesn’t matter if your caligraphy isn’t the best, it’s the thought that matters. This uncomplicated DIY is perfect for clumsy types and people that …

Christmas cards DIY 2015!

During the past few years we’ve been making our own Christmas Cards. It’s part of our Advent ritual: we buy our Advent Wreath, we listen to classic carrols and we prepare the cards we sent afterwards to our best friends and family. (We’ve shared the ones we did last year, and the year before that, do you remember them?) However, we thought we weren’t going to make it this time. With lots of work, even of weekends, we hardly had time for anything. But in the end we made it! So here you have our Christmas Cards DIY 2015!

DIY Christmas Cards

It’s that time of the year again: Christmas card DIY!!! Last year you really liked our Christmas cards so we thought: why not share again the easiest DIY ever? I’m not particularly crafty. In fact, I’m quite clumsy but every year, one afternoon at the end of November, I play Christmas carols and make our Christmas cards. I’d say that’s one of my favorite moments of the year. It’s not a secret: I love Christmas! And this is the only time of the year when I feel like using washi tape and that makes me feel connected with the world. Seriously, what other use can you give to washi tape?

Xmas series: DIY Christmas cards

We’ve never sent Christmas cards as a couple. It’s weird because we’ve been together for almost thirteen years and married for almost three years now so it was about time, huh? Some weeks ago I decided that this year not only would we send pretty Christmas cards to our friends and family, but also we would make them ourselves! I’m not a very crafty person, that is why I went for the easiest way possible. I am very proud of the result so I thought it would be nice to share the process with you.

Our very own DIY Destination Wedding

Three years ago we got married. It truly was the happiest day of my life and since then I’m happier every day. To be honest, I’d never dreamed about my wedding, but as soon as we decided to get married I started to gather information and I became a Wedding machine. I just couldn’t stop. Wedding mode on. Bring it! Invites, dresses, decor, food… I was unstoppable. And I loooooooved it. I know that wedding preparations are stressful for most people, but for me it was paradise: I got plenty of beautiful things to decide, everything was about love, friends, lovely food and being pretty. There was not a hint of stress but a huge amount of excitement!!! In fact, when the wedding was over I was a little bit sad because I wanted to keep preparing things for the wedding. (Inside my head I had this conversation too many times: The wedding is over. Oh. Sad face. Wait! Now comes the honeymoon! Super happy face!! Yeah, but the wedding is over. Sad Face. But …
