We’re off to Copenhagen! Even though this time of the year we usually head to the beach, we are travelling to our beloved Copenhagen to improve our slow-paced guide. Since we know you are here to read nice content, not to read us brag about our next destination, we’ve compiled some old posts that you may have missed! – A fun, colourful Peruvian restaurant in London – Clara closed her blog, but we still follow her on Instagram. Best style ever. – An afternoon in an Italian farmer’s market – The best hair treatment for frizzy hair. – Dreamy Moroccan spas – The coolest backpacks for Summer – Our favourite area in Amsterdam – We are crazy about this collection! – Looking for an off the beaten track destination? – Have you ever done this? – Last year’s beauty favourites that are still going strong – The best recipe for barbacue season. – Tips to discover a different Ibiza – My Venice.
2014 has been a bittersweet year. We’ve had some wonderful times, but we’ve lived some really tough moments too. All in all we’ve learnt a lot. Since we want to focus on the positive, we’ve put together a list of our favourite moments of 2014.
This is our last post about our Amsterdam getaway but we’ve saved the best for last. Let us tell you about our favourite area of this beautiful city.
Today there are no food pictures. How come will you ask… it’s mmm…Monday! Well, today it’s all about mystery. In Amsterdam we enjoyed one of the funniest, more exciting dinners of our lives. But we can’t show you any pictures or give you much more information because it took place in a secret kitchen!
After a whole day of exploring, we decided to hop on a boat at sunset. It wasn’t planned, it just happened. We were exhausted but we curled up in an almost empty boat and enjoyed a peaceful, quiet cruise that showed us Amsterdam from another angle. The water was calm and we felt that we were the only ones wandering through the canals.
This was our first time in Amsterdam. A weekend, no plans ahead and so many things to do… What did we do? Walk. We didn’t visit any museum and gosh there are museums in Amsterdam!!! But we wanted to see the canals, discover the corners that we had seen so many times in travel magazines, we wanted to be spontaneous and we wanted to say goodbye to Summer. I felt a little bit overwhelmed because I really wanted to make the most of the weekend but also be relaxed and easy going… So I ended up a tad frustrated and anxious. Yep. That’s what happens when I try to be spontaneous. Does that happen to you too? All in all we had a great time, we walked until we were exhausted and we fell in love with Amsterdam. Obviously, we have to come back to visit some museums and eat some stroopwaffel! Here you have some pics and highlights of our weekend if you’d like to see…
Last weekend we stayed in the Hotel V Frederiksplein during our spontaneous Amsterdam getaway. And it was fantastic.
Last week we almost booked a trip to Amsterdam. We wanted to do something spontaneous, so we decided we would book a hotel for the weekend, jump on a train and enjoy the city! Of course that didn’t happen. I just can’t be spontaneous. No hotels available, problems with the trains… I hate being spontaneous but when I try the universe stops me! Anyway! Amsterdam is one of those cities that we want to visit but apparently we can’t, like Stockholm or New York. Oh well… we’ll just keep trying! Maybe next Spring? I can totally picture us on our super cool bikes, smelling the tulips, wandering through the Canals, eating Gouda… sigh! ;) What about you? Are you spontaneous when booking your trips and holidays? Or are you a control freak like me?
