The year is coming to an end and it’s time to look back. Instead of making a compilation of our trips this year, we wanted to revisit those special moments that we’ve experienced. Those instants, minutes or tiny lapses of time when we forgot everything else and felt truly happy. The feelings that are worth the trouble, the reasons why travel heals your soul… The moment we entered our cosy apartment in Copenhagen after a whole day of exploring in January. That satisfaction of discovering new places and being awfully but happily tired with red, burning ears from the freezing wind. The moment we saw the most wonderfully starry sky in Mallorca, which took us completely by surprise and made us remember, both with joy and sadness, those who were not with us anymore. The moment we couldn’t stop laughing during our walk on the Thames Path with our friends after a wonderful brunch in a local cafe. We catched our breath, looked up and saw a wonderful view of the city on one side …
Three years ago we stayed at Belavista Hotel & Spa for a long weekend. We had such a wonderful experience that we knew we will be back. Well, last month we did and, although the weather was absolutely terrible, we spent the most relaxing and wonderful days. Here you have our reasons to be back at Belavista…
Sometimes you find a little place that embodies all you look for when travelling: beautiful views, great food, nice people and relaxed atmosphere. And when that happens you come back as much as you can. And once you’re back home you remember it with nostalgia and a big smile on your face. Well, we found all this in a tiny restaurant hidden in a tiny cove in Algarve.
I bet you didn’t expect white and black pictures in a post with such a happy, Summery title, but sometimes stormy weather, furious sea and lonely sand make the most photogenic background.
You know what they say: when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. And that’s what we did in our recent trip to Algarve. We flight to the South of Portugal looking for a sunny, lazy holiday but we found terrible thunderstorms and cold temperatures. Upset at first, we decided to look for alternative plans and ended up exploring the absolutely breathtaking Portuguese countryside.
One year ago, we enjoyed a relaxing long weekend in Algarve, South Portugal, and today we wanted to recall the experience through our moodboard. May seems the perfect month to walk along the peaceful and beautiful beaches, eat the exquisite fresh food, and of course discover the charming small towns. We will definitely come back!
This is the first time in our lives that we were on vacation and we didn’t want to leave the hotel. We just couldn’t. Everything was so beautiful, calm and inviting that wahtever was outside its doors simply didn’t matter. Placed in one of the most popular tourist destinations in Algarve, Belavista Hotel & Spa, is without any doubt the best hotel in the region. The hotel overlooks Praia da Rocha, one of the most impressive beaches of the Algarve. Everything here invites to relax and feel happy and pampered without any care in the world. After a terrible Winter and a rainy Spring, we needed sun, cocktails and massages. And that’s what we had!
Do you remeber that last year we spontaneously decided to go to Bruges and it turned out one of the most charming trips we’ve ever made? Well, it looks like May is our unexpected-destinations-and-travels month! As you read this we will be flying to the South of Portugal!!! Some years ago we used to go every Summer to a music festival in Alentejo (clic) but we’ve never visited Algarve before and we are absolutely excited about it. To be honest, it wasn’t one of our top destinations but it just happened and we are going to make the most of it! Those beaches! Sigh! We’re planning on reading by the swimmingpool, taking long walks on the beach and eating tons of fish and fresh fruits. We only hope that the cloud that followed us to Mallorca and Paris decides to stay in Germany this time. We’ll see… Bye bye!!!! Image via Trekearth
