During the last months we’ve been purchasing some new pieces to improve our Spring/Summer wardrobe. While we rather spend our money in plane tickets and boutique hotels, we like a bit o shopping every now and then. However, we’ve noticed a pattern, a monochrome pattern to be exact.
In the first collage we have put together the new items that are going to be part of our working uniform. We both work in a corporate environment yet we don’t take the usual formality very seriously, that’s why we’ve purchased some classic espadrilles to lighten our Spring office days. We always look for comfort so a new pair of plain, slightly baggy black trousers are a must. We can style them with this silk blouse and heels or dress it down with a chambray shirt and white sneakers.
When it comes to dresses, we love a good classic shirt dress. This one from Topshop is very similar to the one in our closet. And to top everything nicely, a subtly oversized white blazer. Again, we haven’t found the exact one we bought but this one is very similar.
And now, my favourite part of our black and white wardrobe: the pieces we bought for our last holidays. Last week we travelled to the Algarve searching for the sun. We were going to spend our days between the pool and the pool bar, with the occasional beach walk. Well, it rained ALL WEEK. Story of our lives. So none of these items were used. They laid all sad in our suitcases the whole vacation. This gorgeous white dress was supposed to be the perfect beach coverup to throw over this classic, really flattering black swimsuit. (Tip: in case you don’t have a killer body, invest in a clasic, really flattering black swimsuit). This pretty Isabel Marant-esque top was going to look fun and flirty with jeans and golden Pretty Ballerinas. It didn’t happen. Not even these super comfortable white and black Toms that we use to avoid flip flops. Oh well, we still have a few days of holidays ahead. Let’s hope we can take our monochrome wardrobe for a walk!
