Cock’s and Cows

Do you remember when we visited Copenhagen back in May? We stayed at the wonderful SP34 hotel. We had a great time but we didn’t get the chance of trying the award-winning burgers of the restaurant located in the hotel, Cock’s and Cows. Finally, a couple of weeks ago during our last holidays in Copenhagen, we had lunch in the first Cock’s and Cows that opened its doors in Copenhagen. Their success was so big that they have now opened two more branches in the city (one of them placed in the aforementioned SP34 hotel and the other one located in Osterbro district). We wanted to see where everything started, so one windy, cold Friday we took shelter in this cool restaurant and finally tried its burgers. Of course we took some pictures, if you’d like to see…

Cock’s and Cows mixes perfectly the American Diner decor with the cosy yet sophisticated Danish atmosphere. We immediately felt welcomed and comfortable and ordered two of their huge burgers. It should be noticed that we were extremely hungry after a whole morning of exploring and a lovely cruise (say tuned because there’s an article about that cruise coming to your screens later this week!). We went for the traditional cheeseburger and the special of the day, which had a delicious mushroom sauce that made the burger extra juicy.

The burgers were good. The meat was perfectly cooked and the flavours were simple but delicious. You can choose from different buns and we decided on the classic sesame buns. While they were crunchy and held the burgers impeccably, we thought maybe the sweet American bun would have been a better option. Next time, next time. The rosemary fries deserve a mention of their own, though. And a round of applause. To be honest, I personally prefered the fries to the burgers! However, by the lack of burgers pictures in this post you can guess that we loved them and devoured them in the blink of an eye.

Even though it was one of those crispy first Autumn days there were a few brave customers making the most of the restaurant terrace. Some of them were warming up with a few cocktails. Obviously, a burger place this cool had to offer fantastic cocktails!

If you happen to be in Copenhagen and feel like eating a comforting burger and delicious fries, head to Cock’s and Cows. You can add a couple of refreshing, fashionable cocktails to the mix and spend a great time with your friends or significant others.
