I want this new year to be the year of changes. I want us to be daring and full of energy and I want us to leave fear behind. We are terrified of changes but we are brave too, so we will fight for the life we want. That’s our goal for 2016. And that’s what we want for all of you: live the life you want to live! Here’s to a healthy year, full of love and laughter! xx, The slow pace
Stockholm, Copenhagen, Berlin, London, Madrid, Sevilla, Trentino, Venice and Cortina d’Ampezzo have been our destinations this year. Not bad! We’ve put together a recap of our favourite restaurants, hotels and sights in case you are planning a trip to one of those fantastic places next year!
Merry Christmas! We hope you have a wonderful time with your loved ones! Let’s forget problems, distance and hate and let’s focus on the small, precious things that life has to offer! Lots of love, E. & P. The slow pace Image via
We are very happy to be back in Spain. We’ve had a weekend full of friends, great food and a little bit of Christmas shopping. Since we still had to buy a few presents, we decided to visit the Slowrevolution market, the Christmas pop up and amazing new project of Federica & Co. If you don’t live in Spain you probably won’t know what that is. Well, let us explain…
It’s that time of the year again. The moment we look back and remember… what we’ve eaten and cooked! To be honest we are quite impressed by the number of recipes that we’ve managed to publish here! It’s been an hectic year with lots of work, but most of our Sundays were spent in the kitchen, trying new recipes. 2015 was the year of healthy cooking. Yes, we have shared with you a surprisingly high number of low carb, full of veggies, yet delicious dishes. But we’ve also had time to induldge… you know, just to find the right balance ;) Here you have our 2015 recipe recap! And it’s a long one!
When you read these lines, we will be flying to Italy! We’ve decided to treat us with a little getaway to the mountains. The location: Cortina d’Ampezzo, a little village in the North of Veneto. I’ve always heard wonders about this sweet mountain retreat. My mum and my granmother used to speak a lot about it when I was a kid and made me dream about hot chocolate, white landscapes and pandoro. Well, after a very difficult year (lately all of them are, but this one… phew! It was rough!) we are going to spend a long weekend in a wonderful resort in Cortina. We will visit the Christmas market, we will spent long hours at the spa and we will eat a lot of cheese. We wanted to practice snowshoeing (something I’ve always wanted to do!) but guess what? There is no snow. That’s so us: we decide to go to the mountains and it doesn’t snow. Oh well, we will have a great time anyway! We can hike… or spend more time at …
On Monday we shared with you one of our favourite Christmas’ scents: spicy, buttery, dip in white chocolate cookies fresh from the oven (recipe here!). Today, following with the Christmas aromas theme, we wanted to introduce you to a wonderful cologne that could be a great present for Christmas. Jo Malone is one of our favourite brands: we love its philosophy (the scents are made to be mixed with each other) and the fragances are always unconventional. Besides, it’s very easy to find the one for you: they have different categories (citrus, floral, spicy…) so that you can quickly and easily gravitate to the bouquet that you prefer. This one on the picture is our absolute favourite: Nectarine Blossom and Honey. I think this is our third bottle! It’s the right amount of fruity, not overly sweet and a tad spicy. Just perfect. Even one of our best friends couldn’t resist and bought one during her last visit! But we also love the Wood Sage and Sea Salt cologne, a quintesessential Wintery scent. It smells like cosy afternoons by …
Yesterday we spent the afternoon at home, listening to Christmas carrols and baking cookies. That is, we had the perfect Advent Sunday. After the first batch of these amazing soft, gooey cookies the house smellt beautifully, I was reading on the sofa, the two people that I love the most where at home with me, safe, comfortable and without a care in the world. These are feel good – be thankful – enjoy the little moments of happiness and quiet cookies. Keep on reading to discover the recipe!
During the past few years we’ve been making our own Christmas Cards. It’s part of our Advent ritual: we buy our Advent Wreath, we listen to classic carrols and we prepare the cards we sent afterwards to our best friends and family. (We’ve shared the ones we did last year, and the year before that, do you remember them?) However, we thought we weren’t going to make it this time. With lots of work, even of weekends, we hardly had time for anything. But in the end we made it! So here you have our Christmas Cards DIY 2015!
Lately I’ve been wearing this look on repeat. Basic and neutral. Perfect for extra long days at work. November has been crazy and I just didn’t have the time or energy to get creative. So almost every morning, I’ve chosen my Max Mara glasses (retro vibe), my leo print scarf (neutral as goddess Jenna Lyons said) and my two new makeup essentials (yep, makeup again!).
