For 8 rolls you will need:
Dough
350 gr. all purpose flour
A pinch of salt
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
100 gr. melted butter
2 egg yolks
200 ml. milk
Filling
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
50 gr. brown sugar
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon melted butter
Glaze
125 gr. powdered sugar
2 tablespons cream cheese
1 tablespoon butter
30 ml boiling water
Preheat the oven to 180º C. Ligtly grease your baking pan (about 20 cm diameter) and cover the base with wax paper. Reserve.
In a bowl, mix the flour, the salt, the sugar and the cinnamon. Beat the egg yolks with the butter and the milk. Now, combine both preparations until you have a soft dough. Turn it out onto a lightly floured surface (or wax paper) and roll out the dough into a 30 x 25 cm. rectangle.
Now, prepare the filling by simply mixing all the ingredients and spread it over the dough. Roll up the dough and cut it into 8 equak size rolls. Place the rolls in the pan and bake them for 35 minutes.
In the meantime prepare your glaze. Again, mix every ingredient together. Easy peasy.
Once the rolls are golden remove them for the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes. Add the glaze and serve warm. They are delicious, comforting and not overly sweet or cinnamony… the perfect Winter indulgence. If you have any tips to bake the perfect cinnamon roll, please let us know!!!
