If you follow us on Instagram or Twitter (@theslowpace) you know that we spent the weekend in Amsterdam. We’ve had a great time and we absolutely need to come back to get to know the city a little bit better. A weekend was obviously not enough! And that made us think about other places that we need to revisit. The first one that came into our minds was Edinburgh! Besides, with Autumn just around the corner we know that tartan is making its comeback… so thinking about Edinburgh is inevitable! (Well, the Scottish independence referendum this month is another reason to think about Scotland too… but let’s not get into politics and stick to tartan and shortbread).
Edinburgh is a city that is really close to my heart. Lots (I mean: lots!) of years ago I spent a wonderful and terribly fun Summer studying there. I remember the melancholic weather, the grey sky and the beautiful trees that showed the first signs of Autumn. But I also remember the crazy shopping in Princess Street, the fun nights out dancing to traditional Scot music in a huge barn, the Military tattoo, the Edinburgh International Festival… I believe that Edinburgh is a city of contrasts: that sad sky and gloomy weather against the lust for life of a vibrant city. Oh, I really want to come back!

Edinburgh is on ‘the list’ for sure. I love these mood boards but admittedly it’s the little dolled up terrier that caught my eye. :)
