7 idyllic beaches around the world

beach

Even though we love the Mediterranean, we can’t help but dream about exotic beaches, distant destinations and colourful new sunsets. I guess this week is all about lists and after yesterday’s 8 cooking schools across the world, here you have 7 idyllic beaches to daydream… Can you picture yourself staring at these wonderful natural wonders?

1. Romantic Beach, Pulau Perhentian KecilKuala Besut, Malaysia

Remote and quiet. There are no cars or roads on the island! Rent a kayak and paddle if you are looking for some adventure… You will find tiny private beaches if you want some alone time along the way!

2. Nusa Lembongan, Lembongan island, Indonesia

Rent a scooter for the day and look for your private beach. Enjoy a fresh seafood lunch, relax under the sun, snorkel. Repeat and lose track of time on this paradise of an island.

3. Tulum Archeological Site, México

The Mayan ruins of Tulum overlook one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Take your time exploring the ruins and then walk down the staircase to the beach to swim in the warm, turquoise water of the Caribbean sea and lounge in the white sand.

4. Rottnest Island Australia

Take the ferry from Perth or Fremantle and stay the night.  Do nothing except sunbathe, bathe in the water or snorkel. Simply, relax. You will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere.

5. Isla de Barú, Cartagena, Colombia

Snorkel with iridescent blue fishes. Hire a fisherman to cross the bay to the island of Tierra Bomba, where white-sand beaches face Cartagena’s modern Bocagrande strip.

california6. McWay Falls, California

The palm trees and turquoise waters of McWay Falls are a surprise in California’s Big Sur. The waterfall, one of the few in the world that flows directly into the ocean, is a short walk along a pathway from the Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park parking lot. Enjoy this magnificent sight with a picnic.

7. Coral Bay, Australia

Throw on your snorkel gear and explore the depths of what lots consider to be a reef even greater than Great Barrier! You can also sit back and relax on the gorgeous beach and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of this little town.
