A charming Summer: Koufonisia

Koufonissia_a Charming Summer

Third installment of our Summer sereies. Why not visiting a charming Greek island off the beaten track? Let’s travel to Koufonisia, the perfect destination for those who seek to relax on their holidays in golden sand beaches, swim on small natural pools of turquoise waters and feast on seafood fresh from the sea.

Visit the chapel of the Virgin on Kato Koufonisi and St George’s church, the main church on Pano Koufonisi.

Rent a boat and make a day trip to Kato Koufonisi. Be careful because temperatures can be really high! Choose one of the first boat rides in the morning. Enjoy Nero beach during the day and explore the heart of the island just before sunset. On a moonlit night the return boat ride is magnificent.

Check all the beaches in Pano Koufonissi and choose your favourite one: from the aquamarine waters at Hondros Kavos beach to the golden sand of Pori beach, you will find your little piece of paradise.

Savour the delicious recipes that Anna prepares in her restaurant, Ostria Villa. Using local produce like meat from Keros, potatoes from Naxos or honey from Iraklià, she manages to transmit all her traditions on a plate.

This hotel is, in fact, a delightful collection of six whitewashed houses. With stunning views and, presumably, the best sunset of the island, this hotel is located a short walk from the main village and will be the perfect headquarters for your Greek adventure!

  1. The hotel is adorable. I’ve never been to Greece but I would really love to go. It looks incredible. I haven’t been to Menorca either, not sure if you have, but I’ve seen pictures of the white towns and they look like Greece.

    • We’ve never been to Menorca!!! It’s the only island of the Barealics that we haven’t visited… I guess we have to go, right?
      Thanks for your comment!!!!
