A few years ago I visited Istanbul. A dear friend of mine was living there at that moment. I remember being surprised by how cosmopolitan the city was. I fell in love with the Blue Mosque, I watched with amusement how lively the city was at night, I thought I was going to die in a taxi ride and I spent a memorable afternoon by the Bosphorus talking and laughing with my friend. I’ve always wanted to come back to Istanbul, that’s why I have picked The House Hotel Bosphorus as our new destination in collaboration with Mediteranique.
This 19th-century Ottoman mansion at the foot of the Bosphorus Bridge was the former home of Ottoman-era architect Simon Balian, a member of the Armenian family behind many of Istanbul’s landmark imperial buildings. The style combines historical glamour with contemporary design.
From a wonderful breakfast overlooking the Bosphorus bridge and the Topkapı Palace, to private tours on the hotel’s boat, your stay would be unforgettable. Visits to the nearby Ortaköy Mosque, walks around the cobbled strees of Ortaköy neighbourhood, shopping sprees at the Grand Bazaar and drinks at one of the famous Istambul’s rooftop terrace bars.
If you want to splurge a little bit, go for the Penthouse Bosphorus Suite, that features a 4-metre mansard roof and a private wrap-around terrace with a 180° view of the Bosphorus Strait and Ortaköy Mosque, Old City and Maiden’s Tower.
