This season we are going to be really busy. Work and new personal projects will make our lifes a little bit complicated but, as usual, we will try to squeeze some trips in our schedule. Life without those little getaways would be unbereable for us! This is our Autumn Wanderlust Wish List… some of the destinations are more realistic that others, but, hey, a girl can dream, right?
Brittany: this area has been on our bucket list for quite a long time and I think Autumn could be a great moment to make this wish come true. I’ve always pictured this region full of mistery and mist, with nostalgic crispy mornings and cosy afternoons sipping cider by the fire. Moint Saint-Michel, with its legends, dark sides and dangerous tides, has always had an important role in this fantasy being the setting of a couple of my favourite adventure books. Besides, I would love to visit those little beautiful villages like Saint-Malo or Josselin. I’ve recently read that most of the best chefs in France are located in this area, so it would be a great moment to explore their cuisine. Without forgetting the traditional galette, of course. Some suggestions for our foodie readers: Patrick Jeffroy, Youpala Bistrot, Le Coquillage and Aux Pesked. On another another note, this region is the home of the Marinière, the classic striped tee, and I love it just because of that. What would our wardrobes be without striped tees?
Big Sur: for me, Autumn is all about nature. I know they say Spring is the best moment to enjoy outdoors activities but I believe Autumn is the moment when nature really bursts. Those amazing colours: shades of earth tones, greens and, if you are lucky, perfect bright blue skies. That’s why I’ve choosen Big Sur as one of my wish list destinations. I think it would be lovely to rent a cabin and enjoy the soft Autumn sun, the already cold but still gentle sea breeze. We could spend our days with nothing more to do but going for long walks in the mountains. Sigh! We wouldn’t mind staying in Deetjen’s Big Sur Inn, though.
Ibiza: we are no party girls. Our idea of a great Saturday night involves nice food, a Game of Thrones marathon and a fluffy blanket. That’s why we would love to visit Ibiza during low season. The weather during the first weeks of Autumn is still nice, so we could enjoy its picture perfect coves, like Cala Conta, we could get lost in the old town and we could walk the countryside. The hotel Can Lluc seems the perfect place to enjoy that rural, less known Ibiza.
What about you? Have you made your wanderlust wish list for this season?
