German marbled cake

Good morning! How was your weekend? We were preparing our suitcases for Christmas like crazy, but still we found time to prepare a German marbled cake. This is a super comforting cake that everyone will love during dark cold Winter afternoons with a glass of milk. And it’s really easy to prepare!

You will need:
200 gr. unsalted butter
200 gr. sugar
3 eggs
75 ml. milk
200 gr. flour
1 coffe spoon baking powder
2 table spoons cocoa

Preheat the oven to 180ΒΊ C. Grease a bundt cake / gugl hupf baking mold.

In a large bowl cream the butter with the sugar. Whip the eggs and add them gradually to the mix. Add the milk and keep mixing. Stir in the flour and the baking powder. By now you should have an incredibly soft dough.

Now divide the mix in two bowls. Add the two table spoons of cocoa to one of the bowls. Now pour the cocoa batter into the baking tin on top of the cake batter and then swirl slightly with a knife.

Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes, or until it tests done with a toothpick. Let cool for 10 minutes, turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.

Sprinkle a little bit of powdered sugar on top of the cake and enjoy! Preferably next to a nice fireplace!
