The Royal Scotsman

6 Nov

Travelling by train is absolutely my favourite way of travelling and Scotland is one of my favourite places in the world so imagine my excitement when I discovered The Royal Scotsman.

Departing from Edimburgh, this luxury train takes you to the heart of the Highlands. If you are a romantic and melancholic person like sometimes I indulged myself to be, you will love this experience.

Imaging waking up in a beautiful wood cabin sorrounded by feather pillows, spending the morning in bed reading a good book while listening to that charachteristic train clatter. Then you could savour the exquisite seasonal cuisine in the decadent mahogany-panelled dining room and finish the day in the observation car sipping a good scotch as you watch the magnificient scenery on the other side of the window: mysterious castles and the powerful Scottish countryside.

This delightful journey is a bit pricey, but it would make a wonderful honeymoon or anniversary present, don’t you think?

Sounds like the perfect trip.. I’ve been dying to travel by train from Oslo to Bergen, supposedly one of the most beautiful train rides in the world, but now you’re tempting me with The Royal Scotsman ;) Thanks for sharing!
