SEVILLA

13 Apr

Wether you are a spiritual person or not, you should visit Sevilla at Easter at least once in your life. It’s shocking and impressive but most of all, moving.

It’s normally really crowded, so you have to choose very carefully where to stay if you want to have a nice view. The city smells of incense and orange blossoms and it’s full of art. The statues, most of them Baroque, are simply beautiful, the canopies are incredible and carefully decorated with flowers and the atmosphere is outstanding.

Regardless your opinion about religion, it’s undeniable that you can feel the energy and the profound beliefs of some people. You can literally see faith in their faces.

You are right! Something very similar happens in the South part of Italy. And it is amazing!

Wow, that first image with the hoods totally struck me because my first reaction was, “Ku Klux Klan?” But then there are the other pictures, with Jesus’s body and the amazement on some people’s face. It’s amazing to me how an organization like the Ku Klux Klan can twist something as beautiful as an Easter ceremony.
